Physical Training

The Eagle Battalion conducts physical training, or PT, three times a week, every week throughout the semester from 6:30AM until 7:30AM. (Note that those involved with Ranger Challenge often work out four to five days of the week, as a certain higher level of physical fitness is required for the events in which they are involved.)

In order to contract, Cadets must pass the current Cadet Command Fitness Assessment (CCFA), which consists of one minute of push-ups, one minute of curl-ups, and a one-mile run.

Contracted Cadets are assessed on both the Occupational Physical Assessment Test (OPAT) and the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT).

The OPAT consists of four events – standing long jump, seated power throw, deadlift, and an interval aerobic run.

The ACFT is comprised of a three-repetition strength deadlift, standing power throw, hand release pushups, sprint-drag-carry, leg tuck (or plank), and a two-mile run.
