Kingdom Scavenger Hunt
Students transition from genetic analysis to organism-level understanding of DNA’s impact on traits. The instructor guides students on a school-wide scavenger hunt, searching for specimens from as many kingdoms as they can find. Students identify as many defining characteristics of the kingdoms as possible.
1. Identify the six kingdoms
2. Locate and describe representatives from at least four kingdoms
3. List the major defining characteristics of each kingdom
classification, kingdoms, bacteria, fungi, protists, animals, plants
