Stephen Carden, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Statistics
Steve has been in the Mathematical Sciences department since 2014. His research is primarily in statistical properties of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, including the first provably-convergent Reinforcement Learning algorithm for continuous states and actions. Steve has advised eight thesis projects for students seeking a Master’s degree. He has previously chaired the Statistics Group and Grants & Scholarship committee.
