Research Experience for Undergraduates
“Interdisciplinary Research Experiences in Coastal Plain Science”
May 17 – July 23, 2021 (Tentative)
The ICPS at Georgia Southern University is committed to the health and safety of our community, faculty/staff, and students. Due to the current COVID-19 global pandemic we are canceling our summer 2020 REU program. If you’re a rising senior who applied for our program and are interested in our research areas, we encourage you to visit our graduate program web pages through the GS College of Science and Mathematics.
Study the potential impacts of global climate change stressors on organisms and ecosystems of the Atlantic Coastal Plain by participating in research experiences with faculty from the Institute for Coastal Plain Science (ICPS). The Georgia Southern University ICPS REU program in Coastal Plain Science is a summer research program supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF)
. Our program is an exciting opportunity for 10 undergraduate students to be awarded fellowships to actively engage in a 10 week interdisciplinary research experience.
- Students work in a research setting (laboratory and field) with faculty mentors
- $575/week stipend for 10-weeks (housing and meal plan options included)
- Students participate in professional development workshops throughout the summer
- Several field trips and guest lectures scheduled throughout the summer
- Present research at the end of the program in a scientific symposium
