Georgia Southern team awarded more than $750,000 for teacher development grant

Dr. Shainaz Landge from the department of chemistry and biochemistry collaborates with College of Education (COE) on a teacher development project titled, “Okefenokee – Understanding Real-world Relevance through Suwannee Watershed Assessment and Monitoring Project (OUR2 SWAMP)”. This project led by Dr. Lacey Huffling from COE has received $763,897 grant from the National Academies’ Gulf Research Program. The project aims to provide first-hand demonstrations for students of the connection between their local watershed and the Gulf of Mexico. Dr. Shainaz Landge and Dr. Checko Colon-Gaud (Department of Biology) are Co-PIs on this grant. Read more…
