Mr. Steve Knable

Major (Retired) Steve Knable is a contracted employee (COMtek) and currently serves as the Operations Officer for the Eagle Battalion Army ROTC at Georgia Southern University.

MAJ (R) Knable is a native of Greenville, SC. He holds a Bachelor of Accounting Degree from Wofford College. He served in the United States Army for 24 years in a variety of Field Artillery units culminating as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at Georgia Southern University. He also served as the Senior Army Instructor for Portal High School’s Junior ROTC Program. His service has included travel to many different nations and close working relationships with soldiers from over 20 different countries. He has been awarded numerous awards and decorations to include the Army Meritorious Service Medal (with Two Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Commendation Medal (with Three Oak Leaf Clusters), and the Army Achievement Medal.

He is married to the former Vickie Baxley of Prospect, South Carolina. They currently have nine children (five cats and four dogs).
