Mr. George Fredrick
COL (R) George Fredrick returned to the Eagle Battalion in Summer 2016 as the Scholarship & Enrollment Officer after serving a stint at our 6th Brigade Headquarters, Hunter Army Airfield.
A native of Fairfax, South Carolina, he commissioned as a Distinguished Military Graduate from Texas State University as an Infantryman in 1987, with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. He also holds two Master’s degrees — a Master’s of Military Art and Science from Ft. Leavenworth School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) and a Master’s in Personnel Administration from Central Michigan University, a Specialist in Education Administration from Columbus State University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Georgia Southern University.
His military education includes completion of the Infantry Officers’ Basic and Advanced Courses, the Army Command and General Staff College, School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), Joint and Combined Warfighting School (JPME), Ranger School, Airborne School, and Air Assault School.
COL (R) Fredrick is no stranger to the Eagle Battalion. He previously served five years as the Professor Military Science at Georgia Southern University, commissioning nearly one-third of the Second Lieutenants in the program’s history. During his tenure, the Eagle Battalion received two MacArthur Awards (2009, 2010). After his time as PMS, he served as the Director of Military Affairs at Georgia Southern.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Humanitarian Service Award, and the Korean Service Medal.
He is married to the former Cassandra Holmes. They have four children and three grandchildren.
