Transformation of E. coli
Activity Summary
Students transform competent E. coli cells with a pUWL501 plasmid which confers antibiotic resistance and bioluminescence. Students use bacteriological technique to spread bacterial cells on LB and LB/Amp plates to identify the transformed bacteria.
