MBI fellows and partner teachers attend Spring Kick Off Workshop
Georgia Southern University welcomed both MBI fellows and partner teachers to campus each January to kick off the new semester. Fellows and teachers spent the morning designing their spring curriculum and aligning it to the Georgia State Science Standards.
The afternoon featured presentations highlighting the previous semesters’ classroom activities and lesson sharing.
Summer Workshop prepares MBI fellows and partner teachers for upcoming semester
The MBI Summer Workshop brought fellows and partner teachers together for the first time, providing them with techniques and and guidelines for successful curriculum design and implementation.
MBI Fellows selected to present poster at GK12 Conference
MBI Fellows Derek Tucker and Chris Evett were selected to present their poster “Linking Fellow Research to Hands-on Activities” at the recent NSF GK12 Conference. Mr. Evett presented his research on fly genetics and Mr. Tucker spoke about lizards and forensics. Both fellows participated in a small group session, Molecular Biology Initiative: Bringing Real Science into High School Classrooms.
